According to the Hindu calendar, Maa Baglamukhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. Lord Shiva has revealed the prominent eighth Mahavidya among the ten Mahavidyas, "Mata Baglamukhi" Devi. Maa Baglamukhi is the presiding deity of Sthambhan Shakti, which means she removes the fear of her devotees and destroys their enemies.
Mata Baglamukhi is worshiped for destruction of enemies, proficiency in speech and victory in debates. Mata Baglamukhi is also called the goddess of power. From India's first Prime Minister Nehru to Atal Bihari and Pranab, President Mukherjee or the Titanic family, Nicholas to the big stars of the film world, everyone performs the ritual and secret worship of Maa Baglamukhi for the success of their work.
According to the mythological stories of ancient times, when the creation started getting destroyed due to a devastating storm, there was an outcry all around. The devastating storm was going to destroy everything. Everyone was very scared then Lord Vishnu and all the devotees went to Mahadev. Shiva said that there is no one except Shakti who can stop this destruction.
Then Lord Vishnu meditated on 'Mahatripurasundari', due to the worship of Lord Vishnu, water sports appeared in the Haridra lake of Saurashtra region and with her power, Vishnu ji was installed by consecrating the great destructive storm. Then the destruction of this universe stopped.
Goddess Baglamukhi is also called Bir Rati because the Goddess herself is Brahmastra, she has once been called Maharudra by Lord Shiva, hence the Goddess has Siddha Vidyas.
There are only three major historical and miraculous temples of Maa Baglamukhi in India -
The first is located in Datia (Madhya Pradesh), the second in Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) and the third in Nalkheda (Madhya Pradesh).
Yagya was performed in the name of Maa Baglamukhi during the 1962 war. In 1962, when there was a fierce war between India and China, Swamiji of Maa Pitambara Peeth, on the request of the military officers and the then Prime Minister Nehru, performed 51 Kundiya Mahayagya of Maa Baglamukhi for the protection of the country.
It is said that with the final offering of Yagya on the 11th day, China had withdrawn its forces. The Yagyashala built at that time for Yagya still exists in Datia. And this incident has also been mentioned with a bandage.
Worship Maa Baglamukhi with yellow flowers as per the rituals. Maa Baglamukhi's clothes and worship material, Prasad, Mauli etc. are all yellow in colour. Turmeric rosary is also used for chanting Baglamukhi Mantra. Also offer gram flour laddus as offering.
Wear yellow colored clothes. Take special care of purity while chanting the mantra. Follow celibacy and keep fast for Mother Goddess and eat food once a day.
